This week, Hanshaw Middle School 8th graders visited the Exploratorium in San Francisco. Students were able to engage in hands-on experiences that encourage questions, explorations, and individual discoveries through science, art, and human perception. Our students and adult chaperones had an amazing time!!!
Congratulations to Nathan and Perla for their participation in the Stanislaus County Spelling Bee on 12/05/24. They represented Hanshaw well!!!
Greetings Hanshaw families!
We are sharing this information on behalf of some of our community partnerships.
Last week, Hanshaw Middle School Students and Staff participated in our Annual Food Drive. Once again this year, it was a huge success! This project is a huge undertaking and we could not have done it without the help of Mrs. Bogetti, Mr. Fuentes and our counseling team, Mrs. Casey, Mrs. Greenhalgh and our leadership classes, Mrs. Spiker and our AVID students, as well as our dedicated shopping team.
Thanks to our first period classes and some incredibly generous staff members (as well as staff member’s family and friends) we raised $1,380.00 and our first period classes collected a total of 817 items! We were able to make 60 food boxes that were passed out this week to Hanshaw families in need. With our remaining supplies, we will make 10 more boxes to pass out before winter break.
GREAT job Hanshaw!!! We are Hanshaw.... We are Titans!

In addition to the clubs and enrichment opportunities, we will also offer students sessions with support for their academics for an opportunity to improve their grades before the end of the first semester.
Please contact the Expanded Learning Office if you would like to sign your student up for any of these amazing opportunities. (209) 652 - 3359
Hanshaw Middle School celebrated Hispanic Heritage month in the library with a virtual visit from author Aya de Leon who spoke on her middle grade novel, Undercover Latina. Hanshaw was awarded a grant for this author visit and 60 copies of the book for students to keep by the Jane Addams Peace Association (https://www.janeaddamschildrensbookaward.org/). Students and teachers really enjoyed her reading from her novel as well as her insight into her writing process and inspiration.
CONGRATULATIONS to Hanshaw's 2024-25 School Site Council Committee!!!

Our leadership students, in collaboration with Roosevelt and La Loma Jr. High, recently engaged in ENVOLVE training on Monday. This special opportunity aimed to help them grasp the essence of creating an exceptional school culture. The training focused on inspiring our students and teach them how we can get students involved and excited about school.
Happy FIRST day of school Titans! Come meet us at the front gate.
We are ready for a GREAT year!!!
