What an amazing first day of school! Thank you to our staff for the heart, energy, and dedication you poured into welcoming our Titans today. From the moment students stepped on campus, every smile, greeting, and act of support set the tone for a year filled with purpose and possibility.

To our Healthy Start team—you cared for students’ well-being and met needs beyond the classroom.
To our amazing academic counselors—you ensured students had the correct schedules and a smooth start to their year.
To our nutrition services team—you nourished minds and bodies so learning could thrive.
To our custodial team—you ensured our school was clean, safe, and welcoming.
To our supervision team—you created a safe, positive environment where students could feel secure and supported.
To our fantastic paraprofessionals—you provided vital support in classrooms, helping students stay engaged and successful.
And a special thank you to our Activities Director, for the incredible red carpet, balloons, and Titan tunnel at the entrance—it made our students feel like stars from the moment they arrived.

For Hanshaw 8th Graders who are Future Johansen Vikings: If you plan to participate in a sport at Johansen High School during the 2025-26 School Year, please note that there is a FREE sports clinic available on Wednesday, June 4th at Davis High School. Transportation is available (please use the QR code on the for details). Time for Johansen students is from 1 - 2:30pm. You must attend during your school's scheduled time. Hanshaw 8th graders will follow the schedule for their 9th grade school.

If you are a Hanshaw athlete, or future Hanshaw athlete, there will be FREE sports physicals at Davis High School in the Gym. Hanshaw students will ONLY be accepted between 1pm -2:30pm on Wednesday, June 4th. ALL athletes must have a sports physical completed for EACH school year. See you there Titans! Hanshaw Middle School hosted a Science Fair on Thursday, May 22nd with student presentations and judging during the day and a family and community event in the evening. It was a day full of excitement, learning, and anticipation. Our grade level winning projects are listed below: 7th Grade 1st Place - "The Surprising Strength of Eggshells" 2nd Place - "Does the Amount of Flammable Bubbles Affect the Height of Fire?" 3rd Place - "Soggy or Crunchy" 8th Grade 1st Place - "The Principal Foundations of Particle Colliders" 2nd Place - "Strawberry DNA Extraction" 3rd Place - "Big Pieces or Small Pieces: Which will React Faster?"

Hanshaw parents participated in Mental Health First Aid training this week. This was a 2-day training from 9am to 2pm each day and the training was done in Spanish to support our parents. Congratulations to the 21 people who completed the 2-day training and received their certificates.
